Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 January 2026 · Last updated: 29 January 2026
This policy describes how the macOS app Fry WiFi and the support website at frywifi.com handle personal data.
Summary
- No accounts and no registration required.
- No advertising SDKs.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- No backend server for app measurement data — your measurement history is never sent anywhere.
- External connections happen only when you actively run a network test (connectivity / speed test); Cloudflare is used for some endpoints.
- Support runs over email only.

Data the app processes (locally)
Wi-Fi info: the app can read SSID and BSSID to identify the connected Wi-Fi.
Measurements: RSSI, noise, computed SNR, download/upload throughput, latency to router/internet/DNS, packet loss, jitter, DNS lookup time, Wi-Fi transmit rate, and Wi-Fi band (2.4/5/6 GHz).
Local storage: the app keeps a recent-measurements ring buffer locally. You can clear all local data from the app ("Delete all data") or export measurements as JSON via the macOS share sheet.
External connections
The app initiates external connections only when you actively run a connectivity check or speed test. The targets are public measurement endpoints (e.g. Cloudflare). No request includes user identifiers, account information, or measurement history.
Support
If you contact support@frywifi.com, your email address and the message you send are processed only to handle the request and are not used for marketing.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and object — and the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence. Requests can be sent to the email above.
